Every year,
September 14 th is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. On this day in 1950, the
Constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi, an Indo-Aryan language,
written in Devanagari script as one of the official languages of the Republic
of India. Spoken by around 40% of the Indian population, Hindi is one of the 22
scheduled languages of the country.
Department of Hindi celebrated Hindi Day for one week. After
conducting so many activities, Valedictory function has been celebrated on
21.9.2019. Principal, Dr. V. Bharatha Lakshmi presided over the function.
Dr.Shamshakthar, HOD, Dept. of Hindi, Govt. Degree College,
Punganur was the Chief Guest. She expressed her views on the importance of
Hindi as National language and Official Language. It is the responsibility of
an Indian to develop the National Language. Prizes have been distributed to the
students, who won in the different Competitions. Staff and Students made the
function a grand success.
